Our produce normally is delivered between 830-10. So at 1230 someone called and they said they were less then 25 minutes away. I called at 2pm and they said less then 30 minutes. At 230 my boss called them from his car and they said it would be there very soon, he had no idea it had not arrived. At 5 we called again and they had left for the weekend.

that is total bullshit. Maybe your order accidentally got loaded onto Oceanic 815. There are too many good produce companies in your area for that type of incompetence to go unpunished. By the way, I LOVE the polls, just wish they had their own comment section so I could elaborate on my votes. I think everyone should write a post about their "worst day of the week" and all the gritty, shitty details.
On Sunday they called and said we did not place an order. Then why did you keep telling us it was on its way??
I had the same issue with a farm about a month ago. I understand that farmers, produce companies, and chefs will sometimes move at different speeds. If you need a product and make several attempts to find out why it isn't already on your cutting board and the ball is still dropped, then I agree that it is time to explore another company, or farm. People don't come back in to the restaurant if you promise them a dish and never deliver. The hard part is not taking it personally after multiple attempts were made to correct the situation.
